most affordable price every Thursday to all who come to meet,

Seniors function
In the first part Aina Sveilis will talk
about the significance of Mothers Day both
in Latvia and elsewhere. Afterwards Ivars Šeibelis will show
the latest news from Latvia. In part 2 we'll
see a TV broadcast about next year's Song Festival in Latvia.

Film maker Dzintra Geka and composer
Pēteris Vasks
Documentary film director Dzintra Geka will
show her recent films and composer Pēteris Vasks
will talk about his works which are to be performed at the
Canberra International Music Festival 18-20 May, at which
Pēteris is Composer in Residence. There will be two film showings
- one in the afternoon and one in the evening,
with different films in each session. The films are in Latvian
with most having English subtitles. Details

Soviet Union that took place on 14th of June, 1941. Guest
speaker Algimantas Taškūnas, OAM, Honorary

Internationally known Latvian composer
Pēteris Vasks, his wife film director Dzintra Geka and event
organizer Edgars Greste, at Vasks and Geka's lecture about
the Latvian children of Siberia, October 2009. Vasks was in
Sydney to attend the world premiere performance of one of
his works, commissioned for the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
